Volkoff Scorches Pandas for 3 HR
Wednesday, September 6th , 2045
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Nikolai Volkoff can celebrate.
The Nashville Outlaws first baseman powered three into the stands at Panda Park today against the Montana Pandas.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Volkoff told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-7 as the Outlaws toppled Montana by a score of 5-4, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Nashville manager Ryan Naylor said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Nikolai Volkoff flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Paco Garza in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Edmond McCord in the 8th, walked in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th, grounded out in the 14th and hit a solo-shot off Onson Sweemey in the 17th.
Currently Volkoff is batting .319 with 29 home runs and 86 RBIs.
