5-Hit Blitz by Montana's Lumsden
Friday, August 25th , 2045
Even as a kid, Cam Lumsden said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Panda Park today, Lumsden showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 25-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Montana Pandas, helping his team knock off the Oakland Oaks by a score of 11-10.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Cam Lumsden singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
This season Lumsden is swinging the bat at a .267 rate with 46 hits in 172 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 25 runs and driven in 23.
