Lighthouse, Rainbow Mermaids Deal Star Players Friday, August 4th , 2045 The story of the day in the baseball world is the major trade between the Long Island Lighthouse and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. The Lighthouse will receive 33-year old RHP Dusty Fox in the deal, while the Rainbow Mermaids will pick up 28-year old RHP Javier Ariza and $2,260,492 in cash. This was a seemingly out-of-the-blue move that nobody saw coming. A Long Island insider familiar with the negotiations called the trade "one that people will be talking about for quite some time." Neither general manager could be reached for comment. In 16 starts this season Ariza has recorded a 4-5 record and a 5.21 ERA. To date Fox is 4-7 in 16 starts with a 4.89 ERA and has 67 strikeouts in 103 innings. |
