Good production from first baseman Eisse van Opdorp helped the Boston Patriots topple the Greenville 84s, 7-5. van Opdorp went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles for the Patriots. The winner was Boston reliever Jorge Gil, now 1-0. The loser was Dave Lawson. Alvin Randolph collected save number 2.

The Patriots got a big at-bat from catcher Thiago Yepes. For the game, Yepes was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Boston a 5-3 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Yepes, "and today was a good one for us."
