The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Syracuse Storm, 3-2, in M3L Single A action at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The standout performance belonged to Yucca Valley pitcher and Phoenix, Arizona, native Kyle Horton. The winning pitcher was Horton, now 9-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 10. Duane Coleman earned the save, his 18th, for the Yellows.
In the bottom of the seventh, Yucca Valley second baseman Leonardo Valdéz hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Yellows.
"Every loss stings," said Syracuse manager Harris Bailey. "This one is no exception."
