In a tight affair between the Walla Walla Walleye and the Yucca Valley Yellows, pitcher Yaichiro Shini was in the zone. The Walla Walla right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Walla Walla reliever Earl Hicks picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Duane Coleman absorbed the loss. Yucca Valley has now lost 6 consecutive games.

The Walleye relied on shortstop Steve Long for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"I was a little disappointed," said Yucca Valley manager Santiago Rigney. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
