The Kingston Mangos picked up a win at Mango Yard, knocking off the Walla Walla Walleye, 4-2. Starting pitcher Larry Larsen played a key role in the triumph. Larsen, now 4-10, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was Jayson McMasters. He's now 12 for 13 in save chances.
Francisco Carbón, who is tied for 4th in the 3A in doubles with 22, helped out the Kingston cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman was 2-3 with a double.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Larsen told a Kingston Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
Kingston has a 4-game win streak, while Walla Walla has lost 5 in a row.
