Getting an impressive start from Larry Larsen, Kingston beat Yucca Valley by the score of 5-2. Larsen, now 2-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The victory puts Kingston at 30-48.
The Mangos got an important contribution from third baseman Robbie Fisher, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-0 fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Mangos ahead, 3-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Fisher told a Kingston Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
