The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, knocking off the Kent Comets, 3-0. Starting pitcher Shuji Kokawa played a key role in the triumph. James Spencer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities. The Godfathers raised their record to 28-44.

The Godfathers got an important contribution from second baseman Mike Sherman, who in the bottom of the third hit a first pitch fastball into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Godfathers ahead, 2-0.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Sherman.
