Yucca Valley Gets 4-2 Win
The Yucca Valley Yellows beat the Kent Comets, 4-2. Yucca Valley pitcher and Villa Fundación, Dominican Republic, native Miguel Ávila led the way. Yucca Valley reliever Charlie Lyon got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Bill Williams was tagged with the loss. Eric Ramírez recorded the save, his 8th.

Yucca Valley used a timely hit from Leonardo Valdéz to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yellows ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Ávila told the Yucca Valley Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."

Yucca Valley, at 45-24, is 6 games up in the Menard's A.
