Airmen Trip Godfathers, 5-4, in Extra Innings
|
Pontiac Copperdome was the site of a competitive game between the Pontiac Godfathers and Alameda Airmen.
Alameda picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, bumping off the Pontiac Godfathers, 5-4. Pitcher Cam Butler was a major reason the Airmen emerged victorious. Alameda reliever Nicholas Sullivan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Ochoa took the loss.
Alameda used the timely hitting of Allen Shaw to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 17th inning to put the Airmen on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Shaw. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
The Airmen have now won 4 straight.
