Felipe López was outstanding against Syracuse. The left-hander had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Yellows 3-1 win. Guo-ning Wang, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Getting the save was Eric Ramírez, his 5th.
In the bottom of the sixth, Yucca Valley right fielder Ron Stevenson had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and no one out, Stevenson stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Yucca Valley. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles.
In comments to the Yucca Valley Chronicle, Stevenson insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The Menard's A-leading Yellows are 39-22.
