In a low-scoring tilt between the Kent Comets and the Pontiac Godfathers, Claude Stevens was the difference-maker. The Kent right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The Comets raised their record to 28-22.

Kent won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Joe Allen on the mound for Pontiac, right fielder Walt Pritchard hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Comets fans to their feet.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Pritchard said in his postgame press conference.
