9-6 Loss to Lighthouse Extends Athletic Club KC Losing Streak
The home crowd had a good time watching the Athletic Club KC and Long Island Lighthouse get after it.

The Long Island Lighthouse defeated the Athletic Club KC, 9-6. Doing his part was third baseman Jonas van Claveren, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Long Island reliever Ralph DePalma picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alton Westrich took the loss. Carlos Rodríguez converted his 24th save in 26 tries.

The Lighthouse got a big at-bat from first baseman Javier Seco. For the game, Seco went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Long Island a 8-6 lead.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Long Island skipper Michael Esposito.

The Athletic Club KC, now 51-52, have lost 6 straight.
