Mangos Best Caterpillars in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring game between Kingston and Grand Forks, pitcher Nelson McNeil was excellent. The Kingston right-hander helped his team knock off the Caterpillars, 2-1. Stephen Hollingsworth, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Jasper Smulders earned save number 2 this season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kingston third baseman Robbie Fisher put his team on top. With two out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. Grand Forks pitcher George King served it up. Just like that, the Mangos were ahead, 2-1.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," McNeil said.
With the win, the Mangos improved to 9-11.
