Syracuse took on Pontiac in front of a lively crowd.

The Syracuse Storm met little resistance from the Pontiac Godfathers, beating them 13-1 at Pontiac Copperdome. Kenny Benson led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 4 and driving in 4 for Syracuse. With the win, the Storm have a record of 11-9.

With Syracuse leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Benson came up to bat against Pontiac pitcher Steve Barnes. Benson hit a curveball to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Storm on top, 7-0.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Benson.
