Herrera Slugs Patriots to 8-1 Win
|
The Charleston Battery extended their losing streak with a loss to the Boston Patriots.
The Boston Patriots beat the Charleston Battery, 8-1, at Charleston Armory. Jorge Herrera, in particular, was impressive. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Nicky Bogdan. He tossed 94 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits.
An impactful at-bat came in the top of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Dídac Nores, reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Boston, and helped them go on to win.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Matt Hunt.
Charleston has now lost 10 in a row.
