Virgil Dickerson could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Seattle Rocketeers lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Long Island Lighthouse at The Lighthouse. The win puts Long Island at 36-55.
Had Daniel McCoy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, McCoy hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lighthouse.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Seattle manager Mau Delgado. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
