Godfathers Bridle Mangos, 2-1
|
The Pontiac Godfathers had to overcome a fine performance from Kingston pitcher Nelson McNeil to grab a 2-1 win at Pontiac Copperdome. McNeil allowed 2 runs over 6.1 innings. Joe Allen, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Victor Brown was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Tony Silva had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Pontiac second baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Godfathers in front, 2-1.
Silva called the triumph "a good team win."
The win puts Pontiac at 4-3.
