Kingfishers Roll to 10-2 Win Over Cattlemen
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 10-2, with designated hitter Rafael Abasto playing a big role. Abasto went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Kingfishers in the win. Pittsburgh starter Jeffery Meyers was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 9-4. Kenny James closed the door for Pittsburgh, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Marcus Shill went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Pittsburgh. In the bottom of the third, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Shill delivered for the Kingfishers. His run-scoring walk put Pittsburgh on top, 3-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Shill.
The triumph puts Pittsburgh at 49-37 for the season.
