Dídac Nores had a big hand in Boston's 3-2 triumph over Northern Virginia. He rattled off 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scoring 1 times and knocking in 2 runs. Reliever Alvin Randolph picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Nick Cole took the loss. Northern Virginia falls to 4-5.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Nores delivered big-time for Boston, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Joe Khokar. The game-changing hit put the Patriots on top, 2-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Nores told the Boston Daily.
