Lake Minnetonka Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Irving Blue Sox, 9-7, at Heron Field. Lake Minnetonka right fielder Tony Floyd had a superb performance. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Lake Minnetonka reliever Bob Kelso picked up the win to move to 3-3. Jian-ying Yep suffered the loss. Lake Minnetonka is now 53-35, Irving 42-46.
Jake White was the walk-off hero for Lake Minnetonka. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Love Boats third baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"This place was jumping at the end," White said.
