Billings Polar Bears starter Lang Lian had all his pitches working at Hops Park. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-2 Billings win over the Yakima Hops. Lian, now 7-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Tim Little picked up the save, his 1st.

Billings relied on the hitting of Júlio Rivera to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 2-0. For the game, Rivera had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Lian told the Billings Daily News.

At 57-31, Billings is in first place in the Menard's AA.
