Love Boats Sneak By Fighting Imps, 4-3
|
Despite a great performance by Ithaca second baseman Luis Ávila, the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Fighting Imps by the score of 4-3 at Heron Field. Ávila was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Gabriel García, now 7-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Lake Minnetonka, now 51-35, holds down third place in the Menard's AA.
The Love Boats got a big at-bat from first baseman Al Miller. For the game, Miller was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Lake Minnetonka a 2-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Miller.
