The Barton Springs Blues took Toledo pitcher Pablo Montoya's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Toledo Backyard Park. The final score had Barton Springs getting past the Saboteurs, 5-4. Montoya went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 6. Barton Springs reliever Félix Benítez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Victor Brown was saddled with the loss. Graviel Azevedo got the save, his 20th in 22 chances.
Barton Springs used the clutch hitting of Armando Viña to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Blues the lead, 5-4. For the game, Viña had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We found a way to get it done," Viña said.
The Saboteurs, now 26-56, have lost 12 straight.
