The Ithaca Fighting Imps grabbed a win, 5-2, over the Minnesota Loons at Imps Park. Ithaca right fielder Robbie Care went 1-2 with 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. The victory puts Ithaca at 26-45.

The Loons had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Fighting Imps going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Luis Ávila came to the plate. Ávila hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Minnesota hurler Marx Lieftink. It was Ávila's 2nd double of the year.

"I know we have our doubters," said Minnesota manager Rafael Clemente. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
