Love Boats Upend Blimps, 6-5
|
Lake Minnetonka first baseman Rubén Larreta contributed to his team's 6-5 win over the Akron Blimps. Larreta, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in RBI with 39, went 4 for 4 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Love Boats. With the win, Lake Minnetonka upped its record to 40-30.
Lake Minnetonka used the timely hitting of Jose Asuncion to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Love Boats on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This is a very good team," said Asuncion. "We have the chance to do something special."
