Akron Blimps pitcher Shoichi Iwata was in fine form, leading his team past the Billings Polar Bears, 4-0. In 6 innings, Iwata surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Akron occupies 4th place in the Menard's AA at 32-23.
Akron used the timely hitting of Jacob Gray to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blimps on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
