5 Straight Wins for Blues
|
Farmers Field was the site of a competitive game between the Lancaster Farmers and Barton Springs Blues.
The Barton Springs Blues topped the Lancaster Farmers, 4-2, in M3L Double A action at Farmers Field. The standout performance belonged to Barton Springs pitcher and Richmond, Michigan, native Steve Walden. Barton Springs reliever Harley Hawk picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dan Kent shouldered the loss. Graviel Azevedo collected save number 18.
Barton Springs used a timely hit from Claudio Corona to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blues ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Corona attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The 6th-place Blues have won 5 in a row.
