Saboteurs Win 4th Straight, Take Down Fighting Imps, 4-0
|
Toledo starter Jimmy Wilson put a stranglehold on the Ithaca offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Saboteurs to a 4-0 win. Wilson, now 2-6, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 6, and allowing no runs. Armando Sosa got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Manuel Ortíz tagged a home run off Jim Jordan in the bottom of the third. His solo blast put the Saboteurs on top, 1-0. In all, Ortíz had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Wilson.
Ithaca, at 15-30, has lost 4 straight.
