Blimps Deal Farmers 4-3 Defeat
|
Farmers Field was the site of a competitive game between the Lancaster Farmers and Akron Blimps.
The Akron Blimps topped the Lancaster Farmers, 4-3, in M3L Double A action at Farmers Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Akron pitcher José Cruz. The winning pitcher was Cruz, now 4-2. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6.
Akron used the timely hitting of Art Hensley to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It feels good to get this one," Cruz told the Akron Herald.
With the win, Akron upped its record to 25-16.
