Tacod Powers Blimps Offense
The Akron Blimps knocked off the Yakima Hops, 9-2, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Sherwin Tacod was a big reason Akron won. The second baseman went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. António del Pozo picked up the save, his 3rd. Akron has now won 5 straight.

With Akron leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Tacod came up to bat against Yakima pitcher Al Hensley. Tacod hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Blimps on top, 6-2.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Akron manager Noel Ballard.
