Akron Blimps starter Fredrick Shive pitched a strong game against the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats at Heron Field, leading the Blimps to victory, 5-4. Akron pitcher António del Pozo got the win. He's now 3-2. Mark Adams was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Blimps have a record of 19-12.

Akron used a clutch hit from Takahashi Yano to snatch the win. The right fielder belted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"It was a good effort all around," said Shive.
