Shkurin Stars in 5-1 Win for Minnesota
The Minnesota Loons defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 5-1, at Farmers Field. Minnesota right fielder Jeirgif Shkurin had a superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The winning pitcher was Salvador Heredia. He tossed 101 pitches over 8.1 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit. The Farmers fall to 6-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2045 season.

Minnesota took a 5-0 lead on Shkurin's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Vincent Hansen in the top of the eighth, propelled Minnesota to the win.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Minnesota manager Rafael Clemente. "It's usually not just one thing."
