Polar Bears Lose By a Run at Ithaca, 5-4
The Ithaca Fighting Imps beat the Billings Polar Bears, 5-4, at Imps Park. The win was due in part to right fielder Robbie Care, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. The winner was Edgardo Costello in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Hidehira Shibutani took the loss. Xin-fang Zha, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

The Fighting Imps got an important contribution from second baseman Phil Underwood, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball into left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Fighting Imps ahead, 4-0.

Despite the victory, Underwood was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."

Losses have been rare for the Polar Bears, who are now 15-3.
