White Walkers Squelch Bowties Offense in Shutout Win
|
With right fielder Carlos Valle leading the charge, the Buffalo White Walkers defeated the Buckhead Bowties, 3-0, at Beyond the Wall. Valle went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and a walk. Hwa-pyung Yi got the save, his 4th in 6 chances. The Bowties, now 36-64, have lost 6 straight.
With Buffalo leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Valle hit a fastball from Raúl Hinojosa for a solo home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the White Walkers ahead, 2-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said White Walkers manager Chris Lau. "This one was nice to get."
