Northern Lions BC Lose to White Walkers, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Buffalo White Walkers and the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. Buffalo won it, 2-1. Buffalo starter Matt Dunn was in command. The winning pitcher was Dunn, now 3-12. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Hwa-pyung Yi earned his 1st save in 2 chances.
The White Walkers got a big at-bat from catcher Chris Walters. For the game, Walters was 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave Buffalo a 2-1 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams said following the tough loss.
Buffalo, with the win, climbs to 25-63.
