Fans saw a dandy of a game between the New Orleans Voodoo and Detroit Elite.

The New Orleans Voodoo beat the Detroit Elite, 4-3, at Detroit Stadium. New Orleans left fielder Vicente Perales had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 times. Pat Martin earned the save, his 14th.

New Orleans used the timely hitting of Júlio Sahagún to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Voodoo on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Perales said.

The Elite have now dropped 5 straight.
