Bowties Fall Short, 5-4, at Thunder Bay
|
The Buckhead Bowties and Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC provided some drama for the home crowd.
Buckhead left fielder Blaine Callahan had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bowties dropped a 5-4 decision to Thunder Bay at Great Northern Field. Callahan went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Casey Ball, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The save went to Josuke Okumura, number 19 for him.
Thunder Bay took a 5-4 lead on Todd Strachota's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Strachota hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Buckhead pitcher Hildo van Doorn shaking his head.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Strachota.
The Northern Lions BC now have a mark of 41-33.
