Lakers Suffer 7-0 Loss to Oaks
|
The Oakland Oaks beat the Echo Park Lakers, 7-0, at The Oak Grove. Starting pitcher Stewart Telfer was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Telfer, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Oaks are now 33-32, while the Lakers fall to 44-21.
With no one out in the bottom of the eighth, Rafael Bregonzi barreled up a knuckleball from Rhys Maskell. The result was a grand slam home run, putting the Oaks in front, 7-0.
"It's a mindset," said Telfer. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
