Northern Lions BC Get Past Montana for 3-2 Win
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC had to overcome a fine performance from Montana pitcher Elton Coalan to grab a 3-2 win at Panda Park. Coalan allowed 1 run over 5.1 innings. Thunder Bay reliever Armando Trujillo picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Ricky McCauley was saddled with the loss. Thunder Bay, at 36-28, sits in third place in the Third League.

Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Todd Strachota to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Strachota.
