Pandas Lose to Bowties, 8-3
|
The Buckhead Bowties weathered a fine game by Montana first baseman Rupert Bethune to upend the Pandas, 8-3, at 5 Paces Park. Bethune went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Wes Gilmore, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. Buckhead is now 23-30.
Spencer Powell contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 2 runs. It was one at-bat that helped Buckhead get the win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
