White Walkers Topple Bowties, 7-3
|
With first baseman Aloysius Szymanski leading the charge, the Buffalo White Walkers defeated the Buckhead Bowties, 7-3, at Beyond the Wall. Szymanski went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Roger Rodenburg. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 1. The White Walkers now have a record of 15-31.
Szymanski contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Buffalo in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Szymanski took a cutter from Jong-yong Ha and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the White Walkers to leap in front, 3-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Szymanski told a Buffalo Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
