The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats faced a tough opponent in Yakima pitcher Mercedes Bvan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hops Park by a final score of 6-3. Bvan went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Lake Minnetonka reliever Jonathan Vega was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was David López. Lake Minnetonka needed the clutch hitting of Cory Blatchford to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Love Boats on top, 4-2. For the game, Blatchford had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Blatchford told the Lake Minnetonka News.
