Rainbow Mermaids Collect 4-3 Win Over Battery
Both teams had their chances, but the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids eventually prevailed.

A good performance from center fielder Marcos Janero helped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeat the Charleston Battery, 4-3. Janero was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles for the Rainbow Mermaids. The Rainbow Mermaids sit in 9th place in the Premier League with a record of 20-27.

Northern Virginia used a clutch hit from Eustacio Tafalla to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Tafalla. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
