Boston rode a decent outing from starter Alberto López to victory over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. The final score was 5-4. López got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. López allowed 4 runs. Jorge Gil, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Trent Conner, the 22-year old shortstop . Conner contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 1-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Conner.
The victory gives Boston a record of 26-18.
