Coeur Handed 2-1 Loss by Boston
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Boston Patriots and St. Louis Coeur.
Boston starter Peer Slooters had a strong outing against the St. Louis Coeur at Dunkin Donuts Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Leo Ingelbrigtsen got credit for the save for Boston. It was his 2nd of the year.
Tied up with the Coeur in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Patriots got a boost from first baseman Thiago Yepes. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Yepes saw a 0-1 changeup from David Moore and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Boston on top, 2-1.
Slooters said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Patriots, now 22-14, have won 4 in a row.
