Kingfishers Stumble, Lose to Rainbow Mermaids
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Eustacio Tafalla, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 8-3. Tafalla went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Rainbow Mermaids. Picking up the win was Nick Cole. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. With the win, Northern Virginia climbs to 3-1.

Northern Virginia took the lead in the top of the fifth when Tafalla hit a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made the score 4-2, Northern Virginia.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Tafalla.
