The Charleston Battery beat the Boston Patriots, 6-2. Charleston pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Miguel Angel Martínez led the way. Amberlan Romubio closed the door for Charleston, picking up his 6th save of the year. With the win over Boston, the Battery improved to 13-16.

The Battery got an important contribution from designated hitter Benno Luby, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a first pitch fastball into right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Battery ahead, 4-1.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Luby.
