Patriots Humble Battery, 15-2
|
Charleston Armory was the site for United States Premier League action featuring the Charleston Battery and Boston Patriots.
The 15-2 Boston win over Charleston was due in large part to Juan Andrés Martí. The Patriots third baseman went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Peer Slooters earned the win for Boston. He lasted 7 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 2-3.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Enrique Emperador, the 22-year old left fielder . Emperador contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 2-0.
Charleston manager Matt Hunt called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
The Patriots now have a record of 18-10.
